
The voyage of the ship Molly under the command of Captain Joseph Rodman to Barbados with instructions to “speak with no Vessel at Sea unless in Distress.” Rodman is then ordered to return to Newport with a cargo of rum and sugar.

The headstone reads: “Here lyeth Hector Butcher Negro, late Servant to Ms Ann Butcher of Barbadoes, aged 37 years & dyed August ye [the] 15th: 1720.”
